What Landscaping Projects Do You Take On?

Our landscaping work centers on the parts of a yard people notice first. The projects we do most:

  • New rock beds and mulch beds
  • Shrubs and bushes planted or replaced
  • New sod for front and back lawns
  • Brick patios
  • Adding dirt and leveling uneven ground
  • Drainage fixes like french drains

Can You Tear Out My Old Landscaping and Start Over?

Yes, and that is a big part of what we do. We pull out the old rock, overgrown bushes and tired beds, haul it all away and build the new layout on clean ground.

Because the same crew does the teardown, the hauling and the install, nobody is waiting on another company to show up between steps.

Rock Beds or Mulch Beds: Which Is Better?

Both look sharp when they are done right. They just fit different goals.

Rock

Rock beds

Rock stays put and does not break down, which makes it a good pick for borders, side yards and spots you want to set up once.

Mulch

Mulch beds

Mulch gives beds a softer, natural look and breaks down into the soil over time, which is why it gets topped off every so often.

Do You Install New Sod and Brick Patios?

We do both. New sod goes down after the ground is graded and leveled, so the lawn starts flat instead of settling into dips later on.

Brick patios start with excavation and a solid base, and then the brick goes down on top, which helps the surface stay even through Michigan freeze and thaw.

Can You Fix Drainage and Erosion Problems in My Yard?

Water that pools in the lawn or washes soil out from around steps and beds usually comes down to grading. We add dirt and level low areas, install french drains where water keeps collecting and rebuild the ground around steps and slopes that have started to erode.

Landscape & Design FAQ

Do I need a landscape plan before I call?

No. Tell us what you like and how you use the yard, and we will lay out the beds, plantings and patio to fit.

Can you combine landscaping with a dumpster or excavation job?

Yes. Since we also handle dumpster rental and excavating and demolition, one crew can take a yard from teardown to finished.

When is the best time to put in new sod?

Spring and early fall are the easiest times for new sod in Michigan, since cooler weather and regular rain help it root. We can talk through timing for your yard when you call.
